Delivery

At Gravel & Sand R’US, we always make sure that we deliver your items in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

So, once you’ve found the products you require in our online store and you’ve finalised your purchase, we will arrange for delivery. We hold many of the products in stock so, if you live locally, we’ll usually be able to deliver your items in a couple of working days.

Before your items are due for delivery, we’ll call you to discuss specifics. We’ll be able to tell you a delivery day and an approximate time that the delivery will take place. We’ll do our best to accommodate any delivery needs you have and we’ll discuss these with you. However, please be aware it isn’t always possible to meet all delivery needs due to access requirements and safety reasons.

Please be aware that, in order to deliver your items, you’ll need to provide suitable access. In general terms, we usually say to people that ‘if a bin truck can fit, then so can we’. In practical terms, this usually means we’ll require about 3 metres of width.

However, before your items are delivered, it’s a good idea to leave us with as much space as possible. This way, we can deliver your items in a safe and stress-free manner. This means that we generally advise people to move their cars away from the area and store their bins in a different place. It may also be a good idea to tell your neighbours that the delivery is coming, so they don’t park their cars nearby. In addition to this, please make sure any obstacles such as low-hanging cables and overhanging trees are removed from the area, as these may be damaged if not.

When we arrive at your property, we will place the goods as close to your property as we safely can. Your driver will usually unload your goods from a tail-lift vehicle using a manual pallet truck which will push or pull the goods into the desired position. At a minimum, your delivery will be placed kerbside, although we will endeavour to get them as close to the desired location as possible. However, please be aware that we’ll need to leave your goods in a safe space. This often means that we cannot leave your items on a slope or on uneven ground. In addition, we often cannot deliver onto loose gravel, grass or soil.

If you’re ordering a large volume of gravel or soil, then we may deliver a loose-tipped load. However, we will discuss this with you prior to our arrival. In instances such as this, we may require even greater access, so we will always make sure this is possible before we arrive.
